Capacity Building Webinar Series

The First Responders Group Capacity Building Webinar Series hosts monthly webinars that prepare participants to apply emerging technologies and innovative solutions that strengthen homeland security capabilities. The series is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate and features instruction, lessons learned, and best practices presented by field practitioners and national leaders.

All Capacity Building webinars are free and available to a national audience. The NISC partners with the Capacity Building program to co-sponsor webinars when the webinar topics are of interest to both NISC members and Capacity Building participants. Examples of recent co-sponsored webinars include Applying Technologies to Enable Effective Decision Making- Lessons Learned from CUSEC's CAPSTONE-14 Earthquake Exercise and Mobile Apps for Public Safety.

Capacity Building webinars are unique in that participants can interact with presenters and other participants and can earn a certificate of completion and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits. Co-sponsored webinars are recorded and posted on our past events page. The full suite of Capacity Building webinars is available on the Webinar Series homepage, along with upcoming event information. The recordings are also available for viewing and download as podcasts.
