DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) has launched a national effort to reinvent research and development through its new project, the National Conversation on Homeland Security Technology. In this project, DHS wants to help connect responders and operational users directly to industry and innovators. Direct dialogue with practitioners presents an opportunity for industry to learn about the homeland security and public safety needs faced every day. New technology is constantly hitting the market, but it can be hard to find solutions that fulfill all of the needs of our communities. Participating in the national conversation is an easy way to provide input and help build a more resilient future – and to help create solutions that will work for our members and the communities they serve.
In addition to interacting with industry representatives, the national conversation is also a place to interact with other responders and with citizens. You can ask questions, provide insight, and help move things forward in this field. Here at the NISC, we are always looking for new ways to improve information sharing, to make our members’ jobs easier, and to build more resilient communities. The national conversation will move us forward on all of these goals, and we encourage you to participate with us in this initiative.
