New Board Member Brings Decades of Experience & Expertise to the NISC
The NISC is pleased to announce that Deputy Chief Chris Tubbs of the South Marin Fire District has joined the NISC Board of Directors. Deputy Chief Tubbs began his career at the Mercer Island Fire Department in 1978 and had served as that department’s Chief for six and a half years. Additionally, he has served nineteen years as a member of Washington State’s FEMA Urban Search & Rescue team – WATF-1 – as a Task Force Safety Officer and was deployed after the Oklahoma City Bombing and Hurricane Katrina. He is currently a member of the IAFC Technology Council and recent became a principal member of the NFPA 950 committee.
Deputy Chief Tubbs holds numerous degrees in the fields of fire management and disaster preparedness. We are excited to have Deputy Chief Tubbs on the board, and look forward to working with him to further the NISC’s mission!
